Whether getting an expensive laptop or not, one must check if the unit can handle the best photo editing software.

Fred Brisker considers the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch as the best laptop for photo editing and more. Adobe surely has a thing for Apple products, and it’s obvious among professionals and amateurs. Its CPU is an 8th-generation Intel Core i5 up to i7, with graphics by Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655, a RAM starting at 8GB, and with 256GB to 2TB SSD.

The Dell Inspiron 13 7000 doubles as a tablet for on-the-go editing. With almost the same processing power as the MacBook Pro, it runs on Windows and has a slightly lower memory cap than its Apple counterpart. Another Windows laptop, the Acer Swift 3 14-inch, comes with a favorable price tag, says Fred Brisker. For its price range, it packs a punch with a 2 to 4-core Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU, 14-inch Retina Display, Intel HD Graphics 620, 8GB-16GB RAM, and storage up to 4TB.

A huge display can be a major plus when it comes to editing, says Fred Brisker. The Dell XPS 15 has a 15-inch display, with Intel Core i7 as CPU, Nvidia GeForce graphics, 8GB RAM, and storage of 1TB. It boasts a sleek design and a competitive screen that embraces heavy photo editing, notes Fred Brisker.
